CRYSTAL MAGICK
Crystal magick is as old as time itself. Many of our distant ancestors sensed the value of crystals as sacred objects with special powers. At first, stones were simply used as amulets - objects worn to deflect negativity and "evil". Their magickal and healing uses continued to develop until recent times. Their uses included magick, healing, restoring and maintaining harmony, protection from harm, offered as sacrifices, buried for blessings and fertility. Crystals were used for power and healing energies and divination by the Ancient Egyptians, the Aztecs, Incas and the Atlanteans. The dawning of the Aquarian Age has seen an increasing interest in the powers of gems and crystals. Individuals and groups worldwide are gaining a new awareness of the magickal potentials of crystals and gemstones.
You don't need to be an expert to cleanse or program a crystal. It's really very simple and anyone can do it. No special knowledge or abilities are required, all that is needed are the intentions and desire to do so. Crystals respond to thoughts and feelings - especially love - so ensure that you program your crystal when you yourself are in a positive frame of mind.
CLEANSING YOUR CRYSTALS
Crystals are affected by the energies surrounding them. On their way to you, your crystals will have acquired many energies, some positive and some negative. Before using your crystals for the first time they must be cleansed to remove any negative influences they may have acquired. In addition to the negative energies your crystals will absorb from their surroundings, they will also absorb energies from you. There is not a person in the world who does not experience negative feelings from time to time. You may be unwell, feel depressed, angry or just unhappy. Your crystals will absorb some of this negativity and will need to be recleansed. It is recommended that you perform one of the following cleansing procedures at least every two weeks.
Crystal cleansing method 1
Put two to three teaspoons of sea salt or rock salt (available from any health food store and most supermarkets) into four to six pints of warm water. The container should be made of glass, china, pottery etc. but NOT plastic. When the salt has dissolved, soak your crystals in the salt water for 36 to 72 hours. Don't put your crystals into hot water as this may damage them. If you can get sea water, use this instead. Leave the crystals to dry naturally, in sunlight if possible - as the sun's abundant energy serves to enhance the energies naturally present in your crystals.Crystal cleansing method 2
Hold the crystals under running water and let the water flow over them. Tap water is OK - but if you can use fresh flowing water from a stream, so much the better! DO NOT use hot water as some crystals may crack. Also be very careful not to drop your crystals - especially if any of them are small (you could hold something underneath e.g. a sieve, to catch them if you accidentally drop a crystal). It is very important that you hold the crystals while cleansing it as this helps to establish the bond between you. Leave the crystals to dry naturally, in sunlight if possible - as the sun's abundant energy serves to enhance the energies naturally present in your crystals.Crystal cleansing method 3
Place the stones in direct sunlight where the Sun's rays will burn away the unwanted negative energies. An inside window sill won't do, as the glass will absorb some of the Sun's rays. Remove the stones as soon as it begins to get dark. Repeat daily for up to a week. Sometimes the stones will be thoroughly cleansed after one day. Check them daily by holding the stones in your receptive hand (the left hand if you are right handed) and sense their energies. If any negative energies remain, place them in sunlight for another day. If the stones have absorbed a lot of negative energies you may need to do this for several days in a row.Crystal cleansing method 4
Bury the stones in the ground for a week or so and then check that they have have been cleansed of their negative energies. If not, bury them again for a few days until the process is completed. If they have been effectively cleansed, wipe or wash off (take care with lepidolite) any remaining earth and your crystals are ready for use again. Make sure when you bury your crystals that you can easily find them again. It may help to mark the spot with a flowerpot or other item. Be sure to choose a place where you can be sure they will not be disturbed.

If you don't have a specific spell or ritual in mind, there are several easy methods of using the magickal effects of your crystals including:
Wearing the gemstone as a piece of jewellery
For meditation
Carrying it with you in a pocket or handbag etc.
Placing it beside your bed
Placing it in the bathroom, kitchen, living room or on your desk at work etc.
A crystal's energy field extends for about 3 metres so you will still receive its beneficial effects just by keeping it near you.
Before using a crystal for any of the methods listed above, you should program your crystal with your magickal goal.
HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR CRYSTAL
Find a place where you will not be disturbed and leave the phone off the hook. Sit in a comfortable chair and gently hold your crystal in your hands. Take a few moments to study your crystal. Get to know the shape and feel of it. Look carefully at it, noting every detail. Hold your crystal at the level of the third eye. Concentrate on the energy link between the crystal and your third eye. When the energy link is established, will that the crystal is to be used for the purpose that you have chosen e.g. meditation, healing, stimulating intuition, enhancing psychic powers. A crystal should be programmed for one specific purpose only. If you wish to use crystals for several different purposes, you will need to obtain a crystal for each and to use each crystal for its own specific purpose only. A crystal's energy field extends for about 3 metres so you will still receive its beneficial effects.
TAKE SOME POSITIVE ACTION TO SUPPORT YOUR SPELL
Crystal magick can be very effective, but you must take some positive action to achieve your goal.
If you are not prepared to take some positive steps towards achieving your goal then you are not serious about your goal and this will reduce the effectiveness of your magick. Magick works by attracting positive influences, creating opportunities and coincidences. It gives you that extra edge and helps your actions to be more effective in bringing about your goal. It is, however, up to you to make good use of the opportunities and coincidences that the magick sends your way.
For example:
- If you want to attract a new love into your life, make yourself look nice, get out of the house and go to places where you could meet a suitable partner. Don’t sit at home all day, every day waiting for that special someone to come knocking at your door proclaiming his or her undying love.
- If you need a job or a job with better pay, then look for appropriate job advertisements and apply for them.
- If money is your goal, don't just sit at home all day, every day waiting for a big wad of £50 notes to fall through your letter box. Be prepared to work for it or sell something that you no longer need. Once you start taking some positive action to achieve your goal and improve your finances, the universe will often surprise you with money from unexpected and frequently unimagined sources.
- Don't expect magick to protect your home if you go out for the day and leave a window or an outside door open or unlocked! Get secure locks fixed and use them.
- Don't expect magick to protect you from your own stupidity. Don't take stupid risks and expect magick to make you invulnerable. e.g. don't take a short cut late at night along a dark, deserted alleyway and expect magick to protect you from attack - especially if you've had a few drinks and are vulnerable. Take the safest route home or better still phone home and get mum/dad/partner to pick you up or get a taxi (a proper licenced taxi - don't take risks with unlicensed taxis).
- And lastly, if you like to gamble NEVER EVER bet more money than you can afford to lose. Lady luck can play some unexpected and cruel tricks on the overconfident or desperate gambler.
HARM NO ONE
Never do magick to annoy, hurt, kill, manipulate or control another person or for revenge. Don't use magick to impress other people or to simply boost your ego. Find another way to achieve what you need without causing harm to anyone If you use magick for evil purposes, evil will return to you three times over in this lifetime. (Some people say ten times). It's not worth it!
